There was a power line/utility pole down at the boys' school this morning but they still had electricity and had to route students and parents through other doors as the main drop off/ pick up door was completely blocked across the sidewalk. Happy Friday! It's Halloween weekend here in the US and my kids are excited. Nolan is going to be a ninja and Sam is going to be Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon. We are headed up north this weekend with some friends and all the kids are excited to hang out together at Great Wolf Lodge.

Happy Friday Everyone! It was a beautiful fall day here in Michigan and Andrew and I dropped the boys off at school and then picked up my dad and headed into downtown Grand Rapids to spend some time checking out Art Prize. Our beautiful city is in it's 7th year hosting a competition that gives away the largest art prize in the world! It's an art competition open to anyone over 18, in many different mediums. This year there are over 1,500 art pieces entered at over 160 venues in 3 square miles. That's a lot of art! We saw some amazing and inspiring things today. I hope you had an equally beautiful day!

New Beginnings: August!

Hello Everyone! You might notice I'm a day later this week. We just got back from a fabulous week with family at a beach cottage on Lake Michigan. It is truly paradise. We took hundreds of photos so hopefully I can get around to scrapping some soon. Of course I'm a proud mama, so here are my two handsome boys this week at the beach. It's been awhile since I've posted any photos of them. They are growing up so quickly!

New Beginnings: Quotables

Happy Friday Everyone! We've had a busy week heading up VBS for our church and now we are getting ready for a beach vacation (to gorgeous Lake Michigan) with my family. We are definitely ready for a vacation! I know a lot of you are getting back to the school routine or close to it. In Michigan we don't start school until Sept. 8 so we are still in summer mode here.

This week I have another add-on for my New Beginnings Collection. New Beginnings: Quotables has a Mini Kit and some Journal Cards to help you keep scrapping your year. I don't know about you, but my kids are always saying the funniest things, and I always think I should write that down and scrap it, but I don't. Can I make a suggestion? Keep the Quotables Journal Cards in your stash and when they say something cute or funny, pull up a card, journal it, and save the card to scrap later. That way you won't forget these funny moments.
