Earthquake in Haiti

I know that I very rarely talk about anything but digiscrapping here but I want to take a minute to talk about Haiti. You may notice that I added a widget for Compassion International at the bottom of the page. Last summer, my husband spent a week in Haiti working with missionaries in the town of Jeremie which is about 100 mi from Port Au Prince. We were very relieved after contacting the missionary yesterday to learn that the lady who runs the orphanage and all of the children are safe, with no injuries, and very minimal damage to the orphanage. But there is widespread damage, injury, and death throughout the country. I want to encourage you all to donate to the relief efforts in some way if you are able to. But this does have something to do with scrapping....a group of designers, myself included, are going to be making a charity collab kit to benefit the relief efforts in Haiti. The colors and theme will be announced on Monday and I will update you then.

And on another note, tomorrow is JM Blogtrain day!! Woohoo!! I just love this months colors and theme! So be sure to check back tomorrow for my part to Japanese Cherry Blossom.

ETA: Well, it's not so much a blogtrain as a collab kit between myself and Twisted Summertime Designs, but I love it!
